2000s Toys and Games

topbannerwhite.png

My project 2000s Toys and Games final outcome is inspired by a collection of designs named 70's Toys demonstrating 26 different designs using every letter in the alphabet and nine designs numbered 1-9. On each of the designs, the top left corner, displays the first letter of the toy or the number of objects in the design.

I used the idea of the 26 individual designs from A to Z but instead of creating only a poster, I made a deck of cards which has two playable games, Snap and Memory.

Design Process

When creating the designs I started by righting two ideas for each letter, this was done as I wanted to make the designs based on my childhood and the toys and games I played with growing up.

During the designing of each graphic I drew three different illustrations for each of the two ideas. Once I was happy with the drawings I would then chose two out of the three drawings for each idea to create digitally.

After making them digitally I chose one final design. After many iterations to the final design I would then add it into the final poster and deck of card.

To create the full poster and deck I repeated this process 26 times till I had 156 drawings and every letter A to Z completed

To make the final poster I combined all the 26 final designs into one large cohesive design showing each individual peace in alphabetical order. To make the deck of card I printed of two of every design leaving me with 52 cards to play with

Box Design

For the box I wanted two designs one black and the other white inverting the text. in developing the box I went through multiply designs before setting with the two final designs as shown on the right. On the back of the box I put the instructions how to play the two games Snap and Memory.
